i have my turtles next to a window and where i live we have sunny days about 10.5 months per year, my question is should i still get a uvb bulb? i don't know where i read that glass blocks out uv rays and that they're only good if they come exactly from above, and my aquarium receives sunlight from one side and there's the window glass and the aquarium glass, will that still work? ive had my turtles for 1.5 years and ive never had a uv light just a uva basking light. thanks

You'll read that here as well. Windows/screens/plastic block uvb rays. Having the tank by the window is not only useless, but sometimes dangerous. A tank sitting by a window can heat up mighty fast. I've heard a few stories of turts dying that way. Get them away from the window and get a good uvb bulb. Don't forget, you also need another bulb for heat.
