I have a 29 gallon tank with a 10g-30 gallon filter. Next week I'm doing some "turtle" shopping and plan on getting a 60g filter. Can I hook-up BOTH filters for extra tank cleaning or should I disassemble the 10g-30 gallon filter and use the 60g filter by itself?

Overkill on filtration is always a good idea. I'm going to combine my fluval 404 with my fluval 4plus just for kicks. I don't know what kind of filters you're looking at but I'd suggest at least a fluval404 or any canister filter of equal power. That way even when you need to upgrade again, you won't have to get yet another filter.

I'm using it in my 125gal that I set up over a month ago and I haven't even had to do a partial water change yet although I do add 30L a week to make up for evaporation.

So aside from the waterfall noise DRIVING ME CRAZY having the two filters set-up at the same time will be beneficial?

it certainly can't hurt. It will keep the water circulating quite well which helps keep the water clean.

What is the filter with the waterfall? And what 60-gallon filter were you thinking of getting?

I have no experience with Whisper filter, but I've read some positive things about them (although I don't know what size tanks the people who used and liked them had). Another option, if you like power filters, is an Aquaclear.
