Right now I use two wire mesh screens I have screwed together, but one is rusting where it gets splashed. I was thinking of making a custom lid and wanted to see if anyone's made one and can post pics of their work.

What do you mean by lid? I built a canopy for my tank with the ATBA built into the canopy. See the link to my build thread in my signature.

Like this? I made mine out of heavy wire shelving I bought at Menards . It was white and bigger than my tank. Used a grinder to cut it to size then painted it with black epoxy spray paint.

Looks really nice. How thick is the acrylic? Does the paint flake off the wire shelving?

All the acrylic is 1/4" No if you use krylon paint it sticks like glue. No prep work at all just brought it home cut to size with grinder and painted it. Used a multi color tan textured paint. It turned out real nice. All the shelves i have used are made by Rubbermaid ! They have a white coating on them. Maybe epoxy ?

Very nice-looking lids Kansas! I like the rubber tips you added to protect the hoses on the first lid you posted!
