Here is a link to the 40 gallon glass breeder tank I own. Is it ok to use with water and turtles?
http://www.zilla-rules.com/products/critter-cages.htmI was hoping it would work short term to give her more room she is an a 20 gallon tank & is 4-4.5 inches. I was planning to use it and purchase a good filter for a large tank & keep an eye on Craigslist for my larger dream tank.

Thanks

Those are typically made with thinner glass than something designed for water and have warnings on the box not to fill with water.
I'd be very cautious and wouldn't recommend it.
Have you considered a larger rubbermaid container while waiting on an aquarium?

Thanks. I was worried it wouldn't work. I often see people use 40 gallon breeder tanks and was not sure if this was what they were referring to or not. I have considered the rubbermaid containers but I have cats & a 2 year old toddler I need to be-careful he does not get in the container. So I need something to keep little ones, cats, & dogs out. If there is a safe way to do this with a lid I am all ears!!!

I am so glad I asked and you answered! I would of been sick if the glass broke and she got hurt. Petco has a sale that I will either take advantage of or find a good deal on Craigslist. Thanks so much!

I bought that same tank just to get it home and see a sticker in the bottom saying. Not designed to hold water! Took it back and bought. 40 gallon breeder. Don't remember what I paid but it wasn't on sale. 40 gallon breeder at Petco for $35 bucks. I would run there for that deal. Why not a 55 gallon for $50? Even better.
