I do not really know about their filters, but their heaters are supposed to be real good. It might be a little under powered for 2 turtles/50 gallons, but let us know how well it works for you.

Steve, Yeah am waiting for them to arrive. The filter power is good for 50 Gallon as this filter is for more than 100 gallons. the idea is eventually i will move the RES to Bigger tanks.

It says it's rated 200GPH through the filter including media. In a turtle tank you want 3-5x turnover of water per hour. You're smack at 4x with that filter on a 50G tank. The next question becomes filter media volume. You need decent mechanical filtration (which most reasonable canister filters have) and a LOT of biological media for two turtles. Your media setup will dictate your success with this filter and only trying it will tell if it holds enough bio media.

You want the water flow as it enters the filter to hit the media in this order:
1. Mechanical (sponges)
2. Chemical (carbon)
3. Biological (ceramic rings, nuggets, stars etc)

Sorry guys, THe wait is over. Finally the filter arrive. Boy these italians got style, Their design is beautiful. Setting up the filter is very easy. It comes with the media inside. Have to remove it and cleanse it once and then put it back in place. The tubes are sturdy, the nobs are neat, No leakage of any sort, All good. Only concern i have is, the suction side of the tube i feel its very less, If i keep my hand beside it, i cannot feel the water going inside (Note: I have adjusted the nob and the water flow is minimal for now ) I will turn it up in two days, So my concern is how about the dirt spread across how do the pipe suck it ?

Filters will never be able to get all turtle waste. You will have to net some up occasionally or even daily.

Some people use algae eaters and minnows to pick up waste, but I don't bother with that -- I don't think they are that effective and it just ends up as a turtle meal or just something else you need to take care of.

Algae eaters and minnows don't eat waste. But a bottom dwelling / bottom feeding fish will kick the waste back up into the water column as it swims around. Then your canister has a better chance of grabbing it.

Canister filters don't have intake suction. They are gravity fed so you will not feel a lot of "suction" if you put your hand on or near the intake hose.

How did you setup your media?

I don't know what's available locally, what do native terrapins in your area feast on?
