Immediate need of filter...Need suggestions please!!

My filter died all of a sudden today while I was at work today so I am in pretty immediate need of a new one! (Luckily I have a backup filter that will hold us over for a couple days!)
So, I would love any suggestions on filters...preferably some that are as wallet friendly as possible! But, with that being said, I would like this filter to last us...we have been through a couple filters (I, of course, made the mistake of underestimating just how messy he was when I was a new turtle parent!)
Links to where to get one would be very helpful too! Anything will in fact help, we are now in desperate need!
Oh, And our tank is a 30 gallon tank!

Thank you!

After doing a little research, does anyone have any experience using the Penn Plax Cascade Canister 1000 Filter?

I don't, but you might want a cheaper filter if you're going to upgrade that tank soon. I'm not sure if it's worth the cost/trouble of getting a canister for a 30 gallon turtle tank.

I did own one but didn't like it. Fluval filters cost more but are good filters. My thinking is if you buy a good or great filter it will save you money in the long run because you won't need to buy a bigger better one when you get a larger tank. With that being said the FX6 is one option. If your looking for cheap maybe sunsun or odyssea would work.

Whhooo I'm super late. Sorry guys been so busy with my new job and other stuff. - I have the Penn Plax Cascade Canister 1000 Filter -> Link: http://amzn.com/B0002DJ9NY - Very good price. The filter in itself does an amazing job in my opinion in keeping my tank clean. Even when I was feeding my turtles plants it sucked up all the extra debris and still ran well. - I have a 40 Gallon Breeder.

Mostly I didn't buy a fluval for the cost. I thought if I could get a 100 Gallon filter for $80 rather than $160. It wouldn't be a bad buy and I also believe in the "if it works for 30 days - it's gonna keep working until I screw it up" - so far, perfect"

If it works for you, that's great.
