Got myself a fluval 06 series canister filter. Thinking of doing

foam pads -> zeo-carb -> Biomax -> polishing pad

Would zeo-carb be detrimental for the filtration process in a turtle tank? Would it better just to use straight carbon and skip the ammonia remover?

and also should I enclosed the biomax in a nylon bag?

Zeo-carb should OK in the tank, but it's probably not worth the $$$. The polishing pad will also get clogged pretty quickly, so I would avoid.

You don't have to put the biomax in a bag, but it will make things easier for you when you clean the filter.

Would I be able to put a carbon bag at bottom of a basket, and then biomax right on top of it in the same basket?
Or should the biomax be separated and all by itself?

I have carbon and biomedia in n the same basket. No problems I've seen.
