I just added a new part to my turtles "play" area and I layered the flooring with Spanish moss. I just introduced my 2 res turtles to it and the first thing they both did was dig themselves under the moss, is that normal ?

It's normal for them to uproot and rearrange things in their tank. Are they usually skittish? Any pictures of how it was setup?

no i dont have any pictures of it but can take some later and post them, and for the most part they are pretty active. they are usually swimming in the tank chasing each other

This part is out of the water? Do they still do this? Usually they hide if they're scared or the temperatures are off (too hot/cold).
