tank size ?

i currently have my two res turtles in a 10 gallon tank but i am looking to get a much bigger one for them to grow and stay in. what is a good tank size to get them so that they can continue growing and i dont have to buy a tank after tank as they grow?

The biggest you can have would be ideal. 100 gallon or even larger. Kinda depends on the space you have.

I'd get a cheap upgrade now, but you should wait until you know their genders. Otherwise get a huge tank now like Kansasslider recommends.

If one of them turns out to be a male, you will likely need to have a physical divider between them. You can usually sex them when the shell is 3.5 or 4" long.

Even if you want too. The males will constantly harass her which will escalate to fighting/biting.

Okay I understand so if I divide them how will I go about trying to breed them ?

It's really not advised for RES but you'll obviously need to put them together for the occasion. In general, it's safer to keep them apart.

It's not advised to breed them. Over populated and expensive care being the main reasons.
