Yes, just remember that it's a MVB. It produces a lot of heat, so make sure you have the right fixture for it and it's kept at the right distance.

You can but you won't be able to adjust the distance of the halogen lamp. Also replacing those bulbs might be expensive in a proprietary fixture.

A cascade 1000 should be sufficient for a 55 gallon ?

It seems OK. I would prefer something with a little bit more power, but I have not used it before. Are all your turtles going into this tank?

Total I only have 2 .. I downsized a lot AFTER I had to move so I have a small dbt and a male almost 4 inch long red eared slider but I have a magnum 350 canister too that'll be on the tank ..

The only benefit from the smaller filter is if you need to have another setup.

The cascade 1500 is rated for a 200 gallon tank runs 350 gph. On the filter thing it says its good for 75 turtle gallons

But also for 1 turtle in the tank. Still, it's a great start and I'm sure either will do a good job. The $20 or so price difference isn't too bad.
