hi! i have to design a SELF SUSTAINING tank for the red eared sliders for a bio project. im not too familiar with them and plain research is way too boring for me can you guys provide me with some insight on what is the best way to create a self sustaining tank? What plants should I put in the tank, and what other species because it needs to have a lot of biodiversity. Also, the point of this tank is to have as little human interactions as possible. Any suggestions?

you can get close to self sustaining but 95% of the time you'll have to still do water changes! Look up Greg Jones on youtube and check out his 300 gallon setup. it is quite inspiring and he's pretty much made it so his water changes would be fully automated. It's a pretty complex setup but looks sweet!
