Habitat - Indoor :: Two filters?

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I had to rescue my red eared slider from my sister, who wasn't taking care of her properly, so I'm learning turtle care as I go. She's almost five and I've had her for about a year and a half.

I have a 40 gallon tank which is filled about 3/4 of the way. I use a Cascade 610 internal corner filter now, which I clean/change media about every 1-2 months. 10% water changes are done weekly. But I"m noticing the water is still cloudy, although the ammonia, ph, etc. levels are ok. I also have a Top Fin Internal Filter 40 (with bio balls), and I was wondering if I could put that in too and use both filters? I feel like the Cascade one isn't doing the best job.

Should I transition to just the Top Fin one or use both?

Thanks!

You can, but both take up space in the tank. Plus, internal filters aren't that great for turtles. You might want to consider an inexpensive canister or a hang-on filter.
