So, I just added chicken wire to the top of my tank so I can raise the water leve. A few quick questions. I left extra on each side of the tank so that I can fold them over, but the wire was coiled so tightly that it won't bend, how do I fix this?

Also, is there a quick way to suspend the light above the tank for a few days without resting it on the wire? If I rest it on the wire, it's too close to the turtle. In a few days I'm getting a lamp stand in the mail, so this will just be a temporary fix. Thanks guys!

Anyone know how to make the sides of the wire stay down?

When I bent mine I used the edge of a concrete step and bent it over that to form the shape and used a hammer to bend it.

I know that for hardware cloth, if you make a cut about 1.5 inches at each corner, you can bend the sides down and then use wire, whatever to attach them together to make corners. Perhaps this would work with the chicken wire as well.

I would put something metal or wooden or any other material in the shape of a "T" through the holes of the chicken wire on all sides of the tank. That way it doesn't move.

another thing u can do is not bend it over the sides.. is you are using an aquarium, you can cut it just the right size and force fit it in the top so its nice and tight.... thats what i did. works good. u know what i mean? im not sure how well i described it

yeah and make sure there is somewhat of an arch in there.
