So bringing home Zeke hopefully this weekend so far I have a new heater for his new 100 gallon stock tank, a filter coming, the stock tank we will get friday. I have better pellets than the ones he was one, hubby is going to building him a basking dock to go over the stock tank once we get it. Getting a thermometer. Already got him on a daily veggie diet.

What else do I need?
Water conditioners?
Water Test Kits?
Algae control?

It's been a while since we've had Zeke home so I'm a little out of practice.

I suggest an infrared thermometer, they cost about $12 but are very useful... just avoid those cheap little ones with a probe. What kind of filter? If it is a canister, you might want to raise the tank a little. Cinderblocks is a cheap/easy way to do it. It also makes it easier for you, so you don't have to bend over all the time. Skip the water conditioner and use activated carbon. Does the a better job, is safer and cheaper. Just buy it in bulk and some media bags for it. I wouldn't worry about test kits algae control just yet.
