Has anyone ever seen this?

I just saw this and was wondering how well it would work. Mr. Turtle is over 5" now so he's probably too big for it, but it looks cool if it actually works.

I've heard that the problem with these as that they don't attach to anything. They have a tendancy to wander and not stay under the heat light/UVB light. Is it likely that your turtle could get stuck in the log? I would hate to see an accidental drowning.

I would worry about my turtle getting stuck as he grows. It also looks rather abrasive, which could scratch the shell.

yeah I wouldn't get it for Mr. Turtle. I don't think it's abrasive though. I think it's just made to look that way. It might be a cute idea for someone who has small turts with a large tank.

I have it in the middle of my 50 gallon tank, they dont use it to bask on but just to climb on. They love to swim in it, through it, under it, and even climb on top of it. Its not rough at all. If and when they get too big i will def. take it out so they dont get stuck. But until then, I think they would be upset if I took it out. They love it too much!

I had thought about getting one of those when they first came out and figured the money was better spent elsewhere as you can buy corkbark for them to float around on without the danger of getting stuck.
