Approved Algae Eaters?

I would like to introduce an algae-eating fish into my slider's tank to help with tank cleanliness.

Which species, if any, is appropriate for cohabitation with my slider?

What size should it be in relation to my slider?

Thanks,

Matt

from what i have heard most algea eaters, such as plecos, are bad for turtles. They are too slow and since they sit there are more prone to being eaten. They also have have barbs that are bad for the turtles to eat. Whatever you put in your tank will probably be eaten. You could try it but it might not last long lol

Anything that goes into the tank with your slider is likely to become a meal. Even if the pleco or other species is bigger than your turt, it isn't safe. I have tried, and although it didn't get eaten, that isn't to say that they didn't try. I didn't want to see the thing suffer, so I took it out.

My turtles eat fish, but they never bother my pleco. They just seem to ignore him.
