My turtle passed away the other day.. and I only had her for a few days and I bought a great heating lamp/UV lamp and was wondering if anyone on here would like it.. B/O

Maybe it is something you should hang on to, just in case you decide to try another turtle.
Sorry about your loss. Do you know what happened? If you only had her for a few days, it sounds like she was sick when you go her.

Yeah I think she was sick.. I dont think I could do it again I love turtles but Im afraid of losing another. (it happened on my bday)

I feel horrible though there was nothing I could do about it.. Im not ready to get another anytime soon.. so if someone is interested in the light let me know.

Very sorry to hear the news. If you're sure you're not going to be needing the light, you might consider donating it to a turtle rescue/rehoming agency. There are a few of them in New Jersey, I think.

The sale of any turtle under four inches is illegal nation wide. However, owning a turtle under four inches is not.
There are other laws concerning dumping pets in the wild, and taking pets from the wild, but those laws vary by state.

im sorry for your loss. =(
if you have only had the light for a week or less and u still have the box for it, i say just try to return it to whereever u bought it from... they will most likely take it back

It's illegal to buy a turtle in NJ but not to own one. (You can buy one in NY, for example and bring it to NJ). New Jersey, in theory, has some pretty tough laws--for example, turtle owners are supposed to pay for a yearly license to own one (don't know how strongly the law is enforced, though).
Just because buying turtles in NJ is illegal, that doesn't mean that there aren't shelters for abandoned ones...
