Magnum 350

Well, I was planning on getting 1 XP3. Well, my local pet store is selling used Magnum 350's for $20. I'm not sure if these canister filters provide biological filtration. On Marineland.com they say that the filter's output can be connected to a Bio-Wheel PRO 60. Well, does this mean that the water will be falling like a waterfall. I don't want that to happen, I want it so that both hoses stick right in the water. Will I be able to do this? Do I need the Bio-Wheel PRO 60 attachment to recieve biological filtration or will the Magnum 350 canister filter has a place to put the media? On the website it says not all Magnum 350's come with Carbon/Media Container and Water Polishing Micron Cartridge. Does this mean in the Media Container I can put biological filtration media. What the heck is biological filtration media, is it just carbon? If so, how often do I replace the carbon?

I think I've answered some of my questions. From what I see, the Magnum 350 does NOT provide biological filtration WITHOUT the Bio-Wheel PRO 60. But, the Bio-Wheel Pro is a waterfall which is noisy. So, I might just pick one up for $20 just so it makes the water clearer and get an XP3 because that provides biological filtration.

Last question on the Magnum, can I put biological media into the carbon/media container? Will this provide biological filtration, but take away chemical filtration that the carbon provides. What if I put carbon in one of the magnums and biological media in the other magnum. Will this work? That is, can I even put biological media in the magnum in the first place.

Thanks

I assume puttin biological filtration into the carbon/media basket will not work because I think Marineland would've boasted of that ability. Someone please reply who ACTUALLY knows the answer.

No biological filtration, I've confirmed that. But, for $20 I just cannot resist. I'll get one so the water is clearer and there's that handy Power Kleen attachment to do a quick 2 minute clean if guests are coming. :D The XP3 does have biological filtration so I'll get that anyways.
