So, I've decided to heed advice I have been given, and giving, and get rid of the rocks in my tank that are too small. I took them all out this morning, and the bottom is already getting dirty. What can I put there besides large river rocks to cover up the dirt? I was thinking of putting a tank backdrop on the bottom, but it would have to be on the bottom, inside as it is reflective, and you can't see anything underneath the tank. So, could I buy a backdrop, and use some sort of safe-glue to keep it on the bottom? Or would using some decoration I have in the tank hold it down well enough?

i would just go for some large river rocks. that is your best bet. on a back drop you will probably still be able to see the stuff that settles on the bottom.

I bought some large stones at Wal-Marts, remarkably when I use a large syphon it still gets down there and pulls up the crud.

How about some large pieces of slate? You don't have to cover the whole bottom, just enough to make it interesting.
