i have a basking platform, hidding spot, plants, uvb & uva bulbs basking lights w/ clip on light 4 basking. tank has a good filter an heater. i bought everything new.
The RES i am getting the girl has had for awhile. she fostered several (7) its the only one that has grown. all the others grew to 4inches an over. he just hasnt grown.

Because he hasn't grown, I'd go for a 20 gallon or larger.

all the more reason to go bigger. If he's used to more space you should give him as much as possible.
Did he share that 55 with all the other turts?

I'm guessing that's why he hasn't grown. He had to fight with 6 other turts for food, in what must have been a cramped space. A 10 is fine for now if that's all you have. He'll probably be happy that he doesn't have to fend off the other turts.

maybe. But still, go with the biggest tank you can afford right now. He'll love you for it.
