I currently have both turtles in a 5 1/2 gallon tank for the time being as they are new hatchlings.

The hood for the top of the tank only has one slot for an incandesant bulb.

My question is is there a bulb that I can use to get the UVB rays but still puts out heat for them to bask? If so could you please tell me which is the best bulb to buy.

Welcome to the site. The only bulb will do that is a combination UVB mercury vapor bulb, but you could not use it with a 5.5 gallon tank because the intense heat it gives off would cook your turtles.

The size of your tank is too small for one hatchling, let alone two. If their shell lengths are each 1 inch, they need at least a 20-gallon (the guide is to allow ten gallons of tank per inch of shell length).

They need UVB rays and a heat source (two lights if you use a regular UVB bulb, the one mentioned above if you have a 50-gallon or larger tank) and you're not going to be able to provide it with the set-up they've currently got.

I know about the 10 gal per 1 inch of shell rule.
This is just a temporary setup until I move and can get my new setup going. Just wanted to get the uvb light to them, guess I'll gave to come up with something in the meantime....
