Habitat - Outdoor :: Jealousy

Ponds and other outdoor enclosures.

I've been browsing around this section of the forum of outside habitats. They all look extremely nice and I was wondering..is it basically impossible for me to setup an outside habitat? I'm from Toronto Ontario (Canada) ..

Haha, I really want to make a HUGE pond for my turtles but its impossible for me. I live in Minnesota (South) and its only warm maybe 2-3 months out of the whole year (which is weather that my turtles can survive in (70-80).
So for me, its impossible, unless I only have them outside for maybe 3 months. That would kinda be a waste of money though to build something HUGE for them.
BUT...if I lives somewhere were it was warm 24/7 for my turts I would definatly do it!
Fo you, I would say its kinda impossible. Good Luck though if you are... :D

Nah, I think it'll be ok. You can keep your turtles outside for the summer, but you should take him to an inside tank in the winter.

But how big is your turtle?

2 are 4 inches, 1 is around 3-3.5 inches.

It'll be hard though, cause Canada's weather is pretty unstable...and there are a lot of times where the weather goes below zero. Also, squirrels are very common around urban Toronto and the ratio of raccoons to squirrels is probably 1:6 which would be quite a lot. Maybe after a few more years of global warming hahaha ;]..
