You are not supposed release captive bred turtles into the wild

but i think i know a place that accepts turtles in southern california but i dont know for sure but it is a beautiful place and it has a huge pond but you may want to contact them and ask them

Please don't just let him go---try to find a better home for him. In addition to the above contact, also try the California Turtle and Tortoise Club www.tortoise.org There are chapters in different parts of your state. Perhaps someone there could help you or would know of a home for your turtle. Good luck.

How big is your turtle? At 1.5 years old 60 gallons sounds like more than enough.....

You can fill the tank to the top and build an above tank basking area giving him lots of room to swim. Also removing things that take up a lot of space in the water, like gravel or large rocks, will also give him more room.

My guess is he/she is about 5inches... and 60 gallons is more than enough.

thanks for the info

Yes, Willing to provide home for him. We our expanding our pond, it would be a great new home for him, and he would be a great addition to our lives.
