Those are some pretty happy looking turtles!
Is their basking platform free-floating? If it is, one of these days it's going to float over next to the side of the pond and some adventurous turt is going to escape.

The basking area is not free floating, it is ancored by a small brick. I need to get a larger brick though, I notice it moving a little sometimes.
I was going to try a full size brick, but I know that larger turtles and fish will think they can fit through and cause damage.
I also am going to use a small for the pumps, to raise them off the bottom a bit.

On the secong pic it looks like the turtle all the way to the left has some stuff on his shell. Try getting it off with a soft toothbrush.
The pond looks great. How many gallons?

It is 8'L x 4'W x 2.5'H = 600 gallons
The turtle in that picture was basking for a while before the picture was taken, just more dry than the other. I appreciate the concern though, thanks.

Response from redearedslider.com:
Cost:
(All at Lowe's)
4'x4'x8' qty:21 @ $8 each = $168
10" x 1/2" Bolts qty:24 @ $2 each = $48
1/2" Nuts qty:24 @ $.25 each = $6
1/2" Washers qty:48 @ $.10 each = $4.80
24" x 1/2" Re-Bar qty:10 @ $2 each = $20
I don't remember how much the liner was (my guess would be $70). It was recycled from the old pond, luckily I let extra liner hang over on the old pond so that It could be used for an upgrade (not planned).
For underlay I used old carpeting
Total ~ $250 (+ $70 for liner = $320)
I will post a picture of filtration as soon as I get the chance
