When Do I bring my RES inside?

:? I like In central california, and we are expecting a pretty cold winter. My RES is already in hibranation but I'm not sure when we are supposed to bring it inside.

cute pic but shrink it down just a tad. I keep my tank in my garage and that helps keep my temp even.

how big is your res, how long have you had it and have you ever hibernated your res before?

How cold is it where you are now that your RES is already in hibernation?

okay, well, we have had a very cold few days last week so im guessing that that is when. at night it gets about 50-60 f ummm....he is about 3-5 inches.

At those temps, he would not be in real hibernation, but the cold would make him very sluggish/sleepy. He's 3.5 inches? Have you had him since he was a hatchling? It's really not necessary for him to hibernate, and unless he has the proper conditions to do so (pond would have to be a certain number of inches deep with a muddy bottom for him to burrow in being among them) and you know what you're doing, it would be better to create a set-up indoors and bring him in for the winter, especially if he's never hibernated before and you said the winter was going to be especially harsh this year.

Im sorry, he isnt in hibranation. I was playing w/ him....I guess he was just "sluggish"

I'd bring him in for the winter soon if the temps are fluctuating a lot.
