i take my turtle out for some sun from time to time. when i do, i put him inside my fish bowl. will the layer of glass of the fish bowl filter out the sun's UVB? or is the sun's rays strong enough to pass through? :?:

Yes, the glass blocks the UVB.

It can be very dangerous to keep your turtle in any glass container while outside because the glass will hold heat in and the water will get very hot. Keep your turtle in an enclosure that has plenty of moving air and a spot for the turtle to get out and dry. UVB also doesn't pass through water very far.
