can a RES puncture a pond?

so if i bought like an inflatable pond could my RES pop it? like one from walmart or something. an inflatable one would just be easier to deal with since i dont plan on keeping my RES in it 24-7 since (s)he is not even 3". but im just wondering if plastic is like the only way to go

I dont think they can POP it unless they sit there and chew on the same spot for a while. I always feed mine feeder fish so when I put the bag into the tank to let the fish get used to the water, they always bite it but never punctured it at all. There have even been times ill leave the bag in the water for a while, come back to put the fish in, and have like 5 dead fish because the turtle got a good bite in and killed it through the bag without making a scratch at all on the bag. So I think its perfectly safe to go plastic!

I think they would have to give it a GOOD hard Bite and be a nice sized turtle aswell tho...Plastic is pretty tough especially the plastic used for pool's.

i think it would be really hard to even get there mouth on it because the pool is filled with the air so they'll prob just slip if the try to bit it cuz it wont be loose

Yeah that was what i was thinking too, and why would the turtle try to bite it anyway? I don't even think they would try to pop it in the first place lol. Unless you had like food hovering right next to the side or something...

All I know is that I have a turtle that just loves biting at my tank's sealant, so if there are any seam they might want to bite at it. That said, I'd just be prepared and keep it inside some kind of enclosed area so that if they do manage to pop it, though unlikely, you won't lose your turtle(s). Also, from what I remember, cuttlebone is supposed to curb that behavior.
