Hiya

Ok please dont attack me like I was on another forum
My 4 RES are in a 40 gal tank
THis istemporary
Now, fish tanks are VERY expensive, and since my turtles are 4-6 inches each, Im in a dillema
THen it hit me, a kiddie pool!
Will this be fine? It doesnt get too hot in the summer but the turtles stay out doors except the winter, they are in the garage.
So, if I do a kiddie pool
Should I get the hard kind or the flimsy sided kind
I dont have much money and must stay under $20
THanks and God Bless!
:)

one kiddie pool is still too small for ur turtles. even if all ur turtles were 4" they would need 160 gallons of space. if i were you i would look into a large stock tank. u could even take it inside in the winter. u can buy them at farm stores like tractor supply co. and sometimes u can find good stuff on craigslist.

There are some for $10. They are pretty big and hard plastics too.
Maybe I can somehow incorporate them. A small bridge? I am artsy lol
Stock tanks here run $80 on up. Mom and dad arent too keen bout spending that much since I got a new fish tank...

I think I may be able to suffice
A pool is 6 by 6 and a foot tall
If I fill it up .9 ft
I will have about 170 of pool water
Not to forget the tank will be converted to a feeding tank
and plus I do frequent water changes since Im always cleaning cause of all my pets...

you should really keep searching for something bigger. thats still gonna be too small for ur turtles. or try to save up for a large stock tank. see if u can pay for half of it and ur parents the other. and ive heard of ppl building bridges between two tanks or ponds and the turtles will just spend most of the time in the larger tank or pond and almost never in the smaller.

Hi PoisonOrchid, I've been looking at something similar (http://www.amazon.com/Intex-Sun-Fish-Sn ... 00005O6TY/) but I've noticed that people mention that the bottom will puncture easily (I think the patch kit is included.) For something more permanent, you might have to looks for a steal on freecycle or craigslist.
