Taking my turtle outside

So I wanted to take Tut outdoors to get some real nice sunlight before the end of summer. But I wasn't sure, do we have to put him in a tank outside, or can we just let him roam around and follow him. The backyard is fenced in well, and the grass is cut so we could find him well. Just didn't know, also there is no pesticides used on the grass, only water.

Either in water or not, i would not leave it unattended unless the yard or the kiddie pool are totally escape proof.

Okay thanks so much. He seemed to enjoy it chilling out there in the sun. Only problem we had was grass getting all caught up in his legs. But were going to get him used to it.

I think letting him roam around for a little while is better then keeping him in a kiddy pool. But follow him around cause a few minutes not looking you can easily lose him.

Alright. Is there a certain temperature it has to be outside in order to take him out? I don't want him to get too cold out there. Thanks guy, your really helpful!

As long as there is no cold breeze he will be fine with 80 and up.

I'll take my RES out with temps as low as 70F only if there are no cool breezes and it's sunny.

The only time it gets 70F here is fall time which is usually no sun and really windy... I hate Texas haha
