we recently moved our 2 male RES from an indoor tank to being an outdoor tank. it was placed under a tent though direct sunlight could still shine on the tank.

Recenltly we put in an underwater filter that has been working wonders and the tank recenlty has been getting murkey/green
and we have noticed that our turtles have been closing & blinking quite often & rubbing their eyes. and even one of our turtles has been shaking their heads while doing this

we think maybe something contaminated the water, we put in a new filter & we think that maybe soap had gotten into the water. So we put them in a huge container with fresh water over night. and i saw them this morning. the blinking is still there and he is still shaking his head. but not as bad as last night...

any ideas? thanks a bunch

Was the water de-chlorinated in the other container? If not, that could easily cause some irritation.

If you think soap maybe got into the water, does this mean you're cleaning with soap? If so, don't use it (it leaves a residue). If you must use something to clean with, try diluted white vinegar and rinse well afterward.
