Moving Turtles Outside?

Hey, I was thinking about moving my turtles outside of the house, under the carport so the tank would be enjoyed by the family and easier cleanup. Plus, they would be exposed a little more to nature than being in the bathroom all day.

So, should I? If I do, what kind of protection should I have?

PS: We live in SC, kinda close to the marsh, separated by trees and such and in a semi-private backyard.

Thanks for your help!

The main concern is what you will be using for an enclosure and what are you using now. Stock tanks are really suited for outdoor use, and I would look at ones that around 300 gallons. You can then use some hardware cloth/chicken wire and a frame to create a protective lid for it.

don't carports block the sunlight too? so with it your only getting the sun's visible light no heat/ UVB rays.
