Habitat - Outdoor :: Pond Filters - Can someone educate me?

Ponds and other outdoor enclosures.

I'm used to just buying an indoor filter and being done with it. Since I want to do my outdoor enclosure right, it looks like I should go with a pond filter. So far I think I need to get a pond pump and then a filter. I'm thinking of a 500GPH pump and a 500GPH filter for my 100 gallon stock tank. Will it provide enough filtration? I'm looking at the Tetra BF1 bio filter.

That size pump and filter should be good for the size your doing. Id maybe though look in a filter that has builtin uv clarifier. Ponds can turn bright green without them very fast.

Thanks. I saw the inline UV Clarifier. I will post up some pics when I get it all setup.

Very late replying, you just need to make sure the hoses that run from the pump fit the filter. You can look on details of the filter what size lines they can take. Other wise its should be fine. Ive seen plenty of people actually use pool pumps.
