Habitat - Outdoor :: Moving Outside

Ponds and other outdoor enclosures.

I have 2 Red Eared Slider turtles that were acting like they're trying to climb out of their tank all the time. It's warm outside, so I built them a little area in the garden, with a sloping prefab pool, some rocks and some area around it where they can sit. I also put some large rocks around to keep them in, and chicken wire over the area so no animals can get to them in the night.

I thought they would have been happy, but again they're running around, trying to climb out through the chicken wire. One of them just buried itself in the dirt last night and hasn't came out since. The other one is either hiding under the water or trying to climb the wire.

Does anyone know if this is just a period of adjustment? And about the one that's buried himself .. should I try and coax him out or just leave him be?

What's the air and water temperatures? Can you post a picture of this setup?

Do you know their genders? If they're both females, they could be gravid and trying to lay eggs (especially the one buried under the dirt).

I also second Steve's request for pictures and your other parameters.
