I set up a small kid pool on my back deck for my turtle to swim in. I wanted to give him a bigger area to explore today and I added dechlorinator to the water and some rocks for him to play with. I want to sit I'm the pool with her because it's pretty hot today but Im not sure if it's safe or not due to salmonella.... any advice?

No, it's not really safe for you or them. Like you pointed out, salmonella is pretty serious and most dechlorinators are not safe for turtles.

In addition to steve's post is that when they urinate and/or defecate within the pool that you are swimming in, that could transfer more than just salmonella.
