Possibly good filters for outdoor habitat?

I think of jumping from the 55 gallon I have now to a 300 gallon Rubbermaid container someone said in another thread they sold at Tractor Supply Co., upgrading sometime by the end of the year. I lost the link though, but when I checked the price a month ago they went for about $190 at my local store. I'm thinking of putting it in the porch or in the backyard. More sun shines in the backyard though, so I'm pretty much opting for the porch.

What would be a good filter for a habitat this size? Thanks for anything.

I got a link from TSC. See Tractor Supply Co. - POLY TANKS. Price is pretty much the same from a month ago.

Making your own pond filter is much cheaper than buying one. I've seen people make filters out of a durable bucket, an Aquaclear powerhead 5000, and some tubing. IMO, large ponds don't need so much filtration as do smaller aquariums. In time, nature will take care of itself.

A biofilter is your best bet. once it is up and running it pretty much regulates itself. I made my own from a nice looking flower pot from Home Dopey a pump some tygon tubing and a box full of scotchbright pads. It works amazing and the water overflows the pot and keeps agitating the water surface, so mosquitos cant do their thing. I backwash it one in a while to keep the debris from building in the bottom.
