Advice on keeping pond warm in garage

Well my husband and Were going to put the pond in the office but decided it is going to take up way to much room and be even a bigger deal to daycare licensing...even though the garage and office are both off limmits to the children. Any how. If I cover the pond with plexi glass and put a blanket on the cement floor between the plastic pond to prevent some cold from coming up bottom and buy a heater adequate enough to warm up that much water (I am going to measure it today - I think it is 80 or 100 gallons) and buy an extra basking lamp does anyone know if this will keep the water warm enough? I guess I could set it up and check...Just leave it for a week or so and stick a thermometer in there every few hours to make sure the water is the right temp. I am going to need the supplies anyway fro my permanent outdoor pond, so it wont be a waste of money if it does not work. Let me know your thought. Thank you. I would say the garage (this time of year) stays between 30 and 70 degrees.

Covering the top would help, especially at night. Is this a preformed plastic pond? If you haven't purchased one yet, I would go for a stock tank. They are thicker and you would have an easier time to add the blankets around it and under it. The pond has a "curvy" shape and would take longer to setup and keep warm. It would also have a wider surface area in relation to the depth which would make it harder to keep the water warmer.

Yikes...yeah I have a preformed black plastic pond...I got it for only $25 and it is temporary. So...I hope I can keep the water warm okay ( I better keep my 20 gal tank just in case...It doesn't work...then I can out them back in
