*each day she gets about 1 1/2 tsp (is that too much?)

Treats: she gets krill maybe once or twice per month, just a pinch. And cuttlebone on average 2x/mo *its a pain to get the backing off*. Every once in a while, maybe 2-3x/mo she'll get spinach. And every other month I give her about 8 red roseys.

*Is she being over fed?

i think you are feeding too much protein...2-3 years and 7 inches...looks like she is being overfed...
don't see any veggie in the list, veggies should be regular not like as treats only...

I have a 46 year old RES that is like a Labrador..........she will eat anything that doesn't eat her first! Not really, but I am amazed over the years how many things she has grown to like. I just introduced her to avocado because I thought she might benefit from the oils. She LOVES fish, squash, blueberries, but eats a lot of different things like dandilion greens, and apples. I give her a variety of pellets, too, in hopes of making sure she has a balanced diet. Included in these are dry shrimp and meal worms.

Turtle Age (Aprox): No idea, probably 2.5-3 years old... he was 4.5" when I got him.
Turtle Size (SCL): 4.5-5"
Turtle habitat (indoor/outdoor): Indoor - 55 gallons.

Sunday: 3 red leaf lettuce pieces, reptomin pellets (about a tsp)
Monday: 1-2 pieces red leaf lettuce.
Tuesday: 3 red leaf lettuce pieces, reptomin pellets (about a tsp)
Wednesday: 1-2 pieces red leaf lettuce.
Thursday: 3 red leaf lettuce pieces, reptomin pellets (about a tsp)
Friday: 1-2 pieces red leaf lettuce.
Saturday: 3 red leaf lettuce pieces, reptomin pellets (about a tsp)

Treats (and frequency): Dried brine shrimp (Every now and then... probably less than 1-3 pieces a week. They're very small), cuttlebone, and some guppies he won't eat. Sometimes I feed him carrots or sweet potato.

He seems to be having problems shedding though (Lots of retained scutes from however he was raised before I got him). :/
What's some other stuff I could add to help? (Other than wheat germ pellets)

Aside from wheat germ pellets, the best thing to help shed is plenty of basking. People used to mention blueberries as helping with shedding, though it might have just been a fad.

Well, apparently he is way overdue for a new lamp so I'm hoping it will help. He IS shedding... just very slowly. XD
New UVB rays should make him happy.

UVB doesn't make you turtle happy, thats the job of UVA rays. UVB rays have a big role in making your turtle healthy;)

Yeah but what about all the other factors that health has no control over. You can be healthy does that make you happy? I know alot of people that arent healthy but they are happy, sad I know!

You can stop offering chicken and perhaps keep it as a rare treat (once a month?).

I just switched my turtle diet around, but I will put it here for some suggestions on what to maybe change?

1 RES @ 5-6 years ( I can't remember when I got her, and keep forgetting to look up what year it was :$)
She is 4.5 inches long
Lives in a 35-40 gallon tank with some big ( carefully places ) rocks a floating basking rock thingy and 10 rosy reds

Her old diet was pellets every other day, and that was all but I've changed that now.

All of last week she got dandelion greens, every day, a small handful, she loves them, and they seem to have made her a little more energetic. She also got pellets every other day last week, but fewer so I can try to wean her down to more veggies and less pellets.

This week, she had her dandelion greens until yesterday, but I finally went grocery shopping yesterday :$ we have been lazy around here lately lol, so yesterday she got to try red leaf lettuce and a baby carrot :) she LOVED both, and it was really neat watching her try to figure out what happened to the carrot pieces, because they sank, and she is used to floating foods lol, she finally found the carrot and ate it all. Today I am thinking of adding a small amount of green or red pepper, and maybe a small piece of cherry as a treat. I am going to continue adding different veggies to her diet, it just means that my boyfriend and i will be eating MUCH more salad lol.

Treats used to be snails, but I can never seem to find any at our local pet store, however I can get some from the lake now and she liked those alot last time I got them. I had added 12 rosy reds to her tank as a source of food, entertainment and fun, there are 10 left, and she has no real interest in them, she occasionally tries to corner one, but usually fails lol.

If you have any suggestions for good things to introduce that might benefit a veggie deprived ( until now) female RES to get back on track of a proper diet, please feel free to let me know here or pm me :) thanks so much for this topic also, its been so helpful!

Sounds like you're on the right track, just continue to make gradual introductions to veggies and cut out the treats.
