Feeding and Nutrition :: Any other kinds of water plants???

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

Besides the ones listed on the Sticky's......

Apparently at least one of the pet stores here say it's hard to find Anacharis....and another store says they barely have them in stock because they either sell out really fast or the stored doesn't order it often. They supposedly don't have Water Lily but they have Red Tiger Lily, they don't have duckweed, and haven't even heard of hornwort.

So...I was just wondering if there was any other kind?

You can basically put any plant used for fish aquariums in with your turtle, although they may not eat all types. It's kind of trial and error. You don't have to feed them plants, although it's nice if you can. I found it way too expensive because mine are such pigs, so now they get them as treats. :)

Do you feed any veggies?

they usually eat romaine lettuce....carrots and peas now and then (they don't seem to big on that) I haven't tried red/yellow peppers yet.

One of my turtles have dark/big rings....I don't think i'm feeding them a variety of veggies as I should. I never actually checked the prices of the plants!
