HI, I have an adult RES named doodoo. She only eats shrimps, grapes, and other foods thats are not good to be eaten often. Now, she wont even eat pellets. For the past few months, I have to cut shrimps and wrap them with lettuce leaves or stick pellets into grapes to make her eat vegetable and pellet.
But I can't keep giving her shrimps and grapes since they are not good for her. I am thinking of skipping feeding for a few days and see if she would get hungray and eat. I have tried to keep her out of food for 3 days but that didnt work. So, my question is, how long can she go without eating?

p.s. I tried the jello, didnt work neither.

Thank you.

Healthy adults can go for a long time. I'd get a veggie clip and use that for lettuce or aquatic plants and offer her the pellets daily (preferably at a consistent time of day or night). After half-hour or so, scoop them out. She will eat it eventually... try it for at least a week.

try soaking some pellets in tuna juice or chicken broth and letting them dry out and then feed her.

Mine goes totally balistic over chicken and tuna (fed once a mont of course :P )

You could also try a different kind of pellet. I changed brands and my turtle went crazy for the new flavor.

Since your turtle is young I would have someone come over and feed them or get an automatic feeder.
I own this one: Image They have one labeled for fish and one for turtles, from the pictures they both look like the same thing.

I couldn't stop laughing at this comment. I mean, seriously, all day after I read it I chuckled.

So I had to come back and say something.
