Feeding and Nutrition :: Safe treats?

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

Right now my turts eat a diet of pellets, minnows(that live in their pond) and veggies 3 times a week(Romaine, red leaf, and carrots)
But we don't give "treats" normally. We have other reptiles and keep mealworms on hand at all times, and we buy crickets once a month, which they get sometimes, but not often. So my question was are mealworms okay as a treat? What about the beetles they turn into? I see bugs floating in their pond sometimes and I know they eat things that fall in, I just don't want them to get sick off of something I purposely feed them though.

Not sure about the beetles, that might depend on their size. Mealworms are not great, thats why they are in the treat category. You can probably do veggies everyday, do you have any plants in the pond?
