I tried collard greens and my RES ate the first leaf I gave her. I have given it to her since and she spits it out! Is it too much like a cabbage for her to eat it?

I guess she doesn't like it? Or should I keep trying?

Mine don't like collard greens either. I have even tried making them smell different, etc. No such luck for me on the collards. (I can't blame them either, lol)

Our turtle is very picky also. She changes her mind alot as well. She'll love one vegatable this week and hate it the next. Just keep trying different vegetables.

Add a little bit of canned cat food with the collards (to make the collards smell like meat). Mine didn't want to eat any veggies at first. Adding the tiniest amount of canned cat food made it smell like her fav foods and it only took her two weeks to adjust to the veggies. Now she eats collards without any meat at all!

If the leaves are big and tough, they'll be less likely to eat them. I take out any large veins and give pieces of collards to my smaller turts.
