ive been looking at stuff for picasso to play with i think hes entirely bored. he has nothing to play with. my tank set up is currently cascade 700 a large floating dock and my water heater right under the dock for some privacy. but im getting some flat rocks to silicone some plastic plants too. any one use the floating logs? picasso is about 4" wide and 5.5" long

I don't think they make a floating log large enough for a turtle that size... at least not that I've seen. My turtle is about the same size and he fits in the largest size of this turtle log:

These are the only pics I have of my tank as it is right now... It's a 120 gallon tank for size reference. The log is in the lower right corner. I don't have any pics of him in the log on this computer, but he likes to hide inside of it. Someday he will outgrow it, but he fits comfortably in it for right now.

Thanks! I'm working on adding more decorations and things. I just got a background for it, but haven't put it on yet. I basically just moved everything from my 55g to the 120g, so I didn't have enough stuff to fill it.

I was thinking of that, or a piece of cork bark to just float around at random.

Some people have also tried air stones, ping pong balls, tank ornaments and river rocks to give their turtles something to do besides just eat and bask.

My turtles don't like the air stone anymore, but they like watching the bubbles the filter makes, they love to dig through their rocks, and push their plants around.

anybody ever try this? a basking dock made from custom cut cork bark bought from E-bay. It has a complete how-to guide.

That same vid was posted on here the other day. It's a neat idea.

As for the floating log, your turtle is a little larger than mine and mine doesn't fit into his floating log anymore. He still surfs on top of it and hangs off the side of it but he can't fit in it anymore. So, if you're just trying to give your turtle something to play with, it works really well for that.

Yeah... large... wish they made XL or XXL or XXXL, lol... Toby is just shy of 6 inches and I'm going to need to make my own dock soon because the large is getting to be too small for him.
