A friend of mine has a 100 gallon salt water tank in storage that he wouldn't mind getting rid of. He paid $50 for it and that's what he's asking to sell it for. I can vouch for him personally, he's not trying to scam anyone. He's moving to north carolina to settle the estate of his recently passed father. As far as he knows it holds water. If not, it would still make a great terrarium, or could be repaired. From the way he described it, it is set up for a wet/dry filtration system, it doesn't come with a pump or anything though. The tank hasn't been used in a long time and would take him a while to dig out as it is in the back of the storage facility behind all of his other stuff. He lives in Joshua, TX. If anyone is interested let me know.

Woah woah woah. 50$ 100 Gallon tank? Seriously? If I can get a pic or two, or a website that has a picture of it I would certainly be interested in this! Hell the picture is optional actually I just wouldn't mind more info on what the tanks specs are (w x l x d). That and what the difference between a salt water tank and a fresh water tank is.
A wet/dry filtration system?

No difference.....Just that some reef tanks have holes drilled on the bottom to hook-up a "wet/dry filter" also called a "trickle filter" or "sump tank".
If you don't want to use that type of filter, just get a piece of glass and silicone it over the holes at the bottom.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the answer. Yeah i'd rather silicone over the holes and use a canister filter.

I'm pretty interested in this as well. Especially since i was just about to buy a 75 gallon for $179.
I'm taking a trip to colorado tomorrow. and will be heading back around July 31 - August 2 and could drive by on the way back and pick it up.

Ah well now that someone's interested, i'll get ahold of Ken and let him know. I'll ask him for the dimensions and for a picture. As soon as I hear from him, I'll update!

II'd use the drilled hole/s if I were you! Use them to set up a refugium, or biofilter, under the 100 gallon and increase your biological filtration.
I have a refugium and wish i had holes drilled in my tank.

Ok, I just heard back from Ken and someone already bought the tank. I told him that a few people were really interested in it, and he felt bad, so he's found a way to get another one. It won't be available for 4-6 months, but as soon as he gets it, he says it's going to be sold to someone here that needs it! Sorry for the delay, I'll update as soon as the next one is available.
