hello black cat! welcome! got it from here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pipers-P ... 5603742006. the shipping fee costs around Php 150.00

You can also check Cartimar Pet Village in Pasay City. UVB 5.0 is Php 1600, UVB 10.0 is Php 1800. Piper's is cheaper but there are shipping charges. :)

Whew! It's getting hot in here. Last night Dumbork's water turned to 86 degrees Fahrenheit. I've been tossing some ice cubes every other night to lower it, but only for 2 degrees. I've got to invest at those small fans that can blow air on the surface of the water. Any other suggestions? Also, Dumbork seemed to enjoy basking in the night (weird, I know). Of course, her lights were already off and I would be in a panic trying to find here, only to see her on the basking area. Are there members who experienced this? Is this normal for them? Thanks!

He's basking at night because the water and air temp has cooled down enough. A fan during the afternoon would be a good idea along with some water surface movement.
Try leaving the basking lamp on only at night instead of the day.

Thanks. I would try that suggestion. But, wouldn't her circadian rhythm be disrupted? I thought it would be best to mimic the conditions of the indoor tank to the real conditions outside.

The easiest thing would be to keep room temperatures down (if possible).

Based on my observations, she would start basking from 5-ish to 11:45pm. This behavior started last Monday, when the temp peaked to 32 degrees celcius. After basking at the said time, she would swim for awhile and then rest and finally sleep (around 2 midnight). Her basking lights schedule is from 8am to 6pm. Should I change this?

Yes, the tank is in my room; lights off at about 10pm. I will monitor again this week check whether this behavior will change. She's currently basking now, though, and temp is around 30C.

That is quite warm. Any other room at your place that is cooler?

Okay, I have another concern :(
For the past month Dumbork seems sluggish, and basks for only brief moments (1-2 hours per day)
I have installed a new UVB plus heat and I have yet to change the heights, but the readings for now are:
basking area temp is now 41 C or 105 F
Water temp is 80 F

It has been extremely cold here on the past weeks, with temperatures dropping to 10.6 C (outside).

Now my question, can Dumbork know when to go down the water if the heat is too much? She enjoys the 41 C basking temp, but I have seen her move around. Should I force her to go to water to "cool down"?

Thanks!

I think that unless there is illness going on a turtle is quite in tune to its needs. I don't think dumbork will have any problems deciding when to cool off.

Looking at the pics, it seems that dumbork is choosing to bask in different areas. She's probably adjusting to her heat needs.
