Hi there,

I have a baby red ear who is currently in a ten gallon tank. His tank has a hood with two sockets for light bulbs. Does anyone know if you can mix the kind of bulbs in there, or is it some kind of fire hazard? I have a uvb light set up over his basking area, and an incandescent light in the other socket. The sticker in the hood says that it is ok to use fluorescent lights. I suddenly inherited him yesterday so unfortunately I don't have any directions for his equipment. This is an image of how the sockets are set up:

Thanks :)

If it's the right size and wattage, it should be OK. They are using some incandescents in those pictures. Do you have the make/model number? It shouldn't be hard to find the correct instructions for it.
