Equipment Review and Discussion :: Mold risk in FX5?

I just moved with an FX5. I've had it (still wet...) in a garbage bag for five days, and am worried some mold maybe could've grown in it (I haven't been able to use it yet). I called a reptile store and they told me that it'll be fine to use with my turtle immediately, because the bacteria will fend off mold, etc. Is this true, or should I start over?

You could open it up and do a visual inspection. I'd tend to agree with the store in that you're probably OK.

I'm overly cautious, so I would give it a cleaning first. You can do a simple disinfection or decide to replace the media.
