I'm getting ready to set up a 300 gal stock tank and was thinking about getting a mega ray self ballast
bulb. Anyone use this bulb and has the. Company gotten any better? This is a review I found.

I think they're still having trouble with the back log of orders and I have not seen any reviews of the new stuff either. I'd stay away for now.

I ordered one a month ago. I've seen and heard nothing.

Well poo! I sure wanted to try one.So, should I go with a exo terra solar glo or zoo med power sun. I am skeptical of both when I see reviews like this one. Has anyone tested these bulbs with a meter ?

I actually ordered the MegaRay because I bought a 100w PowerSun at my local Petco. I got that because it had better reviews than the other.

After a month, I got a UVB meter, and it tested out at 20 micro watts at 12 inches. If it had UVB that was worth anything, I'd love the UVB and heat in one bulb.

Now I have the MVB and a CFL UVB both in the basking area while waiting for the MegaRay or trying another UVB to see if mine is a dud.

From what I have read the powersun is junk and yours also didn't put out enough uvb . I also use 2 bulbs just wanted to try just one bulb in my new set up.

Just got notice that my MegaRay order has shipped. I'd almost forgotten I had made it.

It showed up today. I'll replace tomorrow and report what my SolarMeter 6.2 reports.
