You can probably get replacement hoses at a hardware store. For cheap canisters, I usually point people to the Odyssea brand that is sold on Aquatraders.com

I'm gonna get rid of this canister filter, LOL! Someone is selling a used jebao canister for real cheap (less than half the original price). It's a 4staged filter so I think it's worth to take the risk and buy it.

Was reading about these over the weekend on Amazon.

Seems that they are meant for fish tanks (which are usually full to the top) rather than turtle tanks (which are usually only filled half to three quarters full) and so there is an intake hose connection that sits above the water in a turtle tank which looks sealed but is not and needs a slight fix of being wrapped with electrical tape to stop the air from bleeding in. Here is the quote..

" I did have problems with the intake sucking in air through where the black intake pieces hooked together (because I only had the tank half filled), but easily fixed that by wrapping electrical tape around the connection points"
