I think the 406 is an upgrade from the Rena. You will love the FX

The FX6 comes with media. I'd take some of the biomedia from your Rena and put it in the tank to keep it alive, then put that in the FX6. That way you get a head start on the cycle.

Sigh, that was my plan, but I guess hubby left the whole busted filter, media and all, sitting outside... so it has dried out. Bummer. I'll probably rinse it off and use it anyway since it wasn't too old or anything.
