I'm buying extra of everything so I don't have additional shipping costs when I need it. Just ordered eveything I need. Now I need a new tank and stand. I can't wait to set things up. It's long overdue.
Well I was planning on buying a Rena XP3 filter and reading through the last couple of posts, I would need the filter and 2bags/boxes of the ceramic rings.
Alright... I took my XP3 out for cleaning. Everything went well and all until it was time to put it back together. The problem was after the priming, I plugged it in but the water wouldn't get sucked in and the filter wasn't making the smooth sounding noise it did when it was working.
Here's a safety tip for those using XP's. The strainer on the intake tube can be knocked off and a turtle can get caught in the current. The turtle can be harmed if some body part is sucked into the tube and the turtle can't get loose.
To prevent this problem glue the strainer onto the intake tube with aquarium silicon or some other non-toxic glue.
I pretty much use the spigot for the outflow, but I would use the spray bar when I used the filter on a smaller tank and wanted the filter to provide a more "gentle" output.

Yeah I did that. Late reply, but I had to use a spare filter , had things going on >_>. Water would enter the intake and fill up the filter, but after plugging it in, the mechanical part that sucks more water in and pushes more out stopped working and now it just makes a buzz sound.
